Ted, is not a faulty download, is that you posted the wrong tarball first. Everyone that downloaded it before you change it got that line. Please be fair with users and don't lie.

there's nothing wrong on doing mistakes, but it's pretty lame to lie to pretend you do none.

PLEASE who's gonna belive an error INSIDE a .tar.bz2?

OK. I have the line "#if !HAVE_CRYPTOPP" and I have freshly made and installed libcryptopp 5.2.1 into /usr/local/lib (which is in my LD_LIBRARY_PATH) as libcryptopp.a and libcrypto++.a (++ is symlinked to pp)

I still get ld errors on libcryptopp, and grepping the source code for libcryptopp gets me only declarations for the offending items, not definitions.

eg:
/usr/local/include/cryptopp/misc.h:280: undefined reference to `CryptoPP::AllocatorWithCleanup::allocate(unsigned, void const*)'

I grepped the source code to libcryptopp for "CryptoPP::AllocatorWithCleanup" and it was only found in the .h files, (and the .o files, strangely enough)

I got the tarball for libcryptopp5.2.1 from http://www.eskimo.com/~weidai/cryptlib.html [www.eskimo.com] .

What's going on? Something's definitely wrong here.
