Our Testers and Users let us no other choice. xMule v1.8.0 is the best working ed2k client for Linux at the moment. You will get nearly unbelievebal Up and Download rates with it. So we are unable to wait any longer with the release of this newest xMule. Enjoy it :-) Note: v1.8.0 only works with wxWidgets 2.4.2 not with wxWidgets 2.5.1 ! xmule-1.8.0.rar - 972 KB

Version 1.8.0 ------------- 2004-04-01 * New in 1.8.0: * FIXED: Various bugs in interpreting new eMule Protocol UDP responses. * FIXED: Removed missing fonts from OSScope in Statistics Window. * FIXED: A bug in OP_EMULEINFO that would cause random crashes. * FIXED: Last non-minor compiler warning in mfc.h. * FIXED: eMule v0.30e clients with completed files no longer sporadically drop xMule clients on connect. E.g. far more *usuable* sources now. * FIXED: Spurious FAT32 permission warnings. * Severely decreased CPU usage yet again. Over 150% decrease in CPU usage when compiled in optimized mode. * Enabled optimization compilation by default. * Added source exchange functionality. Now sources are found much faster than having to wait on the servers. * Added initial support for the eMule-protocol secident. * Added FULL precompiled support to libXRC. * Added necessary copyright and license clauses to become 100% compliant with the GNU Public License (GPL). * Integrated all changes from 1.7.0-1.7.4c (see ChangeLog-UNSTABLE). * Highlights from 1.7.x: * There are no known exploits in this version. * Lots of fixed memleaks and cpuleaks. * Extended support for virtually all of eMule's v3x protocol changes. * Enhanced transfer controls with A4AF, NNS, etc. * Supports every eDonkey server. * Added full ZLIB support. * Less waiting for downloads! Fixed a broken if statement that was tossing out some of the early download connections. * New Build system: * Added Precompiled Header support (./configure --enable-precomp) for the gcc 3.4+ compilers. * Simplified compilation info (Use $ make VERBOSE=1 for standard output). * Added Hetfield's SysTray for Gnome and KDE, provided by m_abs. * Refactored every header, cpp file. Much less interdependent files. [00:41:20] the *really* good thing about this
[00:41:32] i'm finishing with a release of the best damn client for UNIX I'm also *really* glad i will be getting away from all the people who vocalize that i need to be "hospitalized" (see mainpage of amule.org). I have ended the wars, and the xMule devs and myself have produced a superior product all at the same time. The Universe ultimately rewards the compassionate and peaceful people. Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called sons of God. -Matthew 5:9 This will be the 7th time I have attempted to make peace with aMule, albeit this time under far more hostile circumstances, because I really had had enough. This client is the best one around. You can effectively use it inside BOCHS virtual machine in Win32 it is that stable. CPU usage is down at least 150%, easily 5 - 10 times more sources and less memleaks. At least I'm quitting after releasing the most stable and fastest downloading client around :-) Some of you I'll miss, a lot of you i will dance because I will never have to read your hate-inspired rants, and the others, well, keep the faith in a more free, more benevolent world where there are no hostile forks. Finally...Persa Zula, I love you, as incompetent as I am, that will never change :-) I hope you are OK...only 14 more months! Un-Thesis
