There's someting about this news you try to see: The guy sharing that MacOS development version was doing something really illegal, and harming that company. I think you should NOT and NEVER support the spreading of copyrighted files. I don't care what you do on private life or what you have on your HDD, but making support of sharing copyrighted stuff on the main development page of a p2p program is the most crazy thing you ever did.
This guy went to jail? k, he knew the risks of sharing copyrighted material. Is not a "invasion of piracy" from my point of view, but a police investigation about a crime.
Anyway! Absolutely the SAME can be aplied to ed2k network, where is pretty easy to find the source of any file (just a matter of some clicks!). So if you advise not to use bittorrent, advise too not to use xMule. It's easy to say that about other projects, try to tell everyone about not using xMule now. It's , if not less, at least as secure/private as bittorrent.
